University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus)
University of Toronto
University of Toronto Health Sciences
This was a dual site distance learning installation with the University of Toronto. One site was a renovation of the existing Medical Science Building at the downtown Toronto campus and the other was a new installation in the Health Sciences Building at the Mississauga campus. The downtown systems included the installation of over 175 desktop microphones, new DSP and 4 video conference codecs along with a new teleconferencing bridge.
The second portion of this project involved a new installation at the Mississauga campus which involved multiple distance learning auditoriums, multi-media classrooms, meeting rooms and central control rooms. These systems were designed over a fibre optic backbone and Crestron Digital Media systems.
The central control room located in Mississauga acts as the hub for the systems at both campuses and from this location the operators can monitor activity in all the rooms via IP cameras. It also acts as a help desk with a direct intercom which is connected over the client’s own internal IP network. From this room the operators can control all aspects of the audio visual systems in Mississauga and Toronto including equipment activation, recording, video conference monitoring, and can schedule video conference sessions using the Cisco VCS system installed at the Toronto site.
This project was completed on time and on budget.
